Situated in the landmarked Clocktower Building in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, this former warehouse-turned-loft boasts panoramic views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. A pair of new volumes function as the organizing elements, while open living spaces along the perimeter prioritize the four exposures and expansive views. Clad in vertically raked white oak, the primary volume encloses a foyer, powder room, guest bath, and hidden wet bar. Inside, dark materials and minimal detailing contrast with the black-stained white oak panels and white marble of the perimeter spaces. The kitchen sits within a second volume, its an elongated, horizontal form differentiated from the first by solid oak battens.

Oversized pocket doors conceal two private bedroom suites and create more intimate spaces. The exposed concrete ceiling and structure showcase the raw, textured character of the original building against the warm materials and clean lines of the new elements.

While the two volumes share material similarities, subtle manipulations of the oak paneling give each a distinct identity.
